Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The West Coast Railway Association is both a museum and heritage railway located in Squamish, British Columbia near Vancouver. Their origin can be traced back to the late 1950’s when a hand full of the association’s pioneers formed the association. The purpose of this association was to preserve and restore, collect railway cars including artifacts while operating a licensed railway.
The WCRA has one of the largest collections of railway rolling stock including artifacts in Canada outside of the Canadian Railway Museum. They have a wonderful steam locomotive known as the Royal Hudson #2860 facilitating railway excursions and railfan fellowship.
The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is open year round to the public. They are the host to the every popular and annual a Day Out with Thomas event where they expect fantastic amounts of people to celebrate this happy event. It is not uncommon for as many as 12,000 visitors flock over this event. This is a lovely place to bring the family for fun.
